Seraina Klopfstein is currently working as a postdoc at the Swedish Museum of Natural History in Stockholm. She received her Ph. D. in Switzerland in 2010. Her thesis focused on Diplazontinae, a subfamily of the very species-rich Ichneumonidae. Her thesis covered research on morphological and molecular species delimitation, phylogenetic relationships in the subfamily, and the evolution of courtship behaviour in this group of wasps. While continuing her work on diplazontine taxonomy and phylogeny, she has broadened her interests, working on a family-level phylogeny of all Hymenoptera, on the prediction of phylogenetic signal in different datasets, and on methods to incorporate fossil evidence in dating analyses. Besides work, she enjoys exploring the Swedish nature and eternizing it in photographs.
