Hege Vårdal is Curator of Hymenoptera at the Swedish Museum of Natural History in Stockholm. She received her Ph. D. from Uppsala University in 2004. Her research interests include morphological evolution in gall wasps and insect-parasitic relatives, morphology and function of the venom gland system in Cynipoidea, and comparative studies of eggs and larvae in parasitic wasps (Cynipoidea, Chalcidoidea). In addition to her responsibilities as Curator, she teaches various courses on insects given at the museum and by Stockholm University.
