Mike is a Research Entomologist with the Systematic Entomology Laboratory (SEL) of the Agriculture Research Service (USDA) and is an Adjunct Scientist in Entomology at the Smithsonian Institution. During his 5 years with SEL, Mike has focused research on systematics of parasitic wasps, emphasizing Chalcidoidea, specifically Eurytomidae and Eulophidae. Mike is collaborating on several large biodiversity inventories both domestically and internationally. His work has resulted in over 39 papers and book chapters on Chalcidoidea. In addition to research, Mike is responsible for identifying ants and Chalcidoidea for APHIS-PPQ, other organizations, and individuals. He also curates the National Collection of Chalcidoidea at the Smithsonian Institution and assists users from all over the world in their research and use of the collection.
